The program, known as the"Vocational Certificate of Language Education for Foreign Teachers in China", is jointly organized by China International Personnel Market(affiliated to State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs)and Beijing Centre for the Promotion of Chinese Overseas. It provides the foreign teachers in China with specially-designed vocational training.
The trainees, who obtain the VCLE, will be offered the job opportunities of language teaching all around China. And those, who comply with the regulations and standards of the state, will be assisted to apply the Z visas and Foreign Expert Certificates.
1). Training Goals:
·To know the current situation of the Chinese educational system and the foreign language teaching in China quickly and thoroughly
·To master the basic knowledge and skills of foreign language teaching;
·To learn the Chinese traditional culture, as well as the present society and humanity, so as to make it easier for the foreign teachers to fit in the local life;
·To understand the current laws and regulations in China, so as to help the foreign teachers to adapt to the working and living in China.
2). Program:
Module A: Chinese Education and Culture (4 Days)
Main Topics:
·The current situation of the Chinese educational system and the foreign language teaching
·The analysis and selection of Chinese TEFL teaching materials
·Chinese traditional culture, society and humanity
·The basic knowledge of Intercultural Communication
·The laws and regulations of China governing foreign-related matters
Module B: Skills on Foreign Language Teaching (5 Days)
Main Topics:
·Language Learning Theory
·The Characteristics of Chinese English learners
·Nine Principles of TESOL
·Language Teaching Methodology
·Planning Your Lessons
Note: Those who have already present TEFL/TESOL/TESL and other related certificates, may apply to exempt the Module B .
3). Instruction Model:
·Teach in English; learn in small groups
4). Time of Training:
One term every month
5). Tests and Certificates:
·Both written test and demo teaching are requested.
·The trainees who pass the tests will obtain the following certificates issued by the organizers:
Certificate A:
Vocational Certificate of Language Education for Foreign Teachers in China--Chinese Education and Culture;
Or
Certificate B:
Vocational Certificate of Language Education for Foreign Teachers in China--Foreign Language Teaching Skills.
·Job opportunities:The trainees who obtain both certificates A and B will be provided job opportunities of language teaching;
·Z visas and Foreign Expert Certificates:Those who comply with the regulations and standards of the state, will be assisted to apply Z visas and Foreign Expert Certificates (Commission charge excluded).
