TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
TCM in Chinese, is called "中医Zhongyi". However, the Chinese character “中Zhong”does not stand for China, but means neutralization - adjusting imbalanced bodily functions into a yin-yang balanced condition to eliminate disease. The seemingly odd medical treatments, such as acupuncture, Guasha treatment, feeling the pulse, mixing Chinese herbs etc., in fact, all derive from the “well-balanced body” concept.
What Is…
Traditional Chinese treatments are so far removed from Western techniques that some have a hard time believing traditional Chinese medicine to be a systematic science—that though ancient, it is nonetheless not overly mysterious or strange.
Chinese…
Traditional Chinese medicine mainly consists of herbal medicines (e.g. root, stem, leaf and fruit of various plants), animal medicines (e.g. animal organs, skin and bone) and medicines made of minerals, with herbal medicines being the core subject, outnumbering by far both of the other two branches.
Acupuncture
What is acupuncture? How does acupuncture work? Does it hurt? What kind of illnesses can be treated by acupuncture?
Tui Na…
Traditionally known in China as tui na, Chinese massage, or naprapathy, is a method of medical manipulation in which a chiropractor uses his/her hands to press or rub certain parts of a patient’s body in order to achieve therapeutic or health-care results.

The Five Flavors and Chinese Medicine
When it comes to flavor, people all have their own individual preferences, making it extremely difficult for even the best chefs in the world to cater for all tastes. According to traditional Chinese medicine, a balance should be maintained between the five basic flavors, namely sweet, sour, bitter, pungent and salty, for health’s sake.
